About Social58 Foundation
Social58 Foundation, Inc., a federally tax-exempt, not-for-profit charity organization, is established in the state of Washington. The foundation provides grant-writing development and fundraising support to [social]58, LLC, a private company that offers psychological health care and mental health counseling services for deaf, deaf-blind, hard of hearing, and blind individuals throughout the state of Washington.
Social58 Foundation provides funding support for [social]58 LLC patients. They are assisted with mental health counseling services. However, since their patients are on either Medicare Part B coverage or State Medicaid insurance coverage, they often cannot afford to pay copayment/ coinsurance fees (especially those who have Medicare Part B.) Also, private-practice mental health professionals receive the lowest possible payment for services when paid by State Medicaid programs. Therefore, the company might not always be able to afford to purchase necessary equipment and supplies, or to pay additional personnel salaries (i.e., for neuropsychological evaluations).
In short, the foundation’s goals are to:
- Seek grant project funds that will help deaf, deaf-blind, hard of hearing, and blind individuals with mental health needs to improve their individual quality of life;
- Receive and distribute grant project funds to those who need funding to research their mental health disorders or alleviate their mental health expenses, including therapy costs;
- Pay low-income/federally-subsidized individuals who clearly cannot afford to pay co-payments/co-insurance fees;
- Pay low-income/federal subsidy individuals’ therapy costs in the case of emergency, and prior to approval from their insurance companies to cover the expenses of therapy service;
- Pay for neuropsychological evaluations for individuals;
- Pay mental health professionals’ salaries, as needed;
- Purchase, replace, repair, or restore necessary equipment for therapeutic purposes; and
- Pay for the remodeling costs of existing mental health clinics, so that the clinics can operate more effectively for patients and professionals to work together and succeed in their treatment goals.
Please contact us if you have any questions about those goals, or the Foundation’s programs. If you are interested in helping or volunteering, please contact us for that as well. Likewise, we would love to hear your questions and/or comments.
